The film was released in over 470 screens in Tamil Nadu on Thursday, 8 August. Although it was a normal working, Nerkonda Paarvai got a fantastic opening by raking in approximately Rs 14CR (TN) on the first day. Following positive reviews, the Ajith-starrer registered good footfalls on its second day. The early estimation coming from the trade trackers indicate that the flick will collect around Rs 10 crore to take its total tally to Rs 24 crore in Tamil Nadu.
In Chennai alone, Nerkonda Paarvai is estimated to have grossed over Rs 2.70 crore.
Nerkonda Paarvai also opened big in the US by earning Rs 10 lakh ($16,915) on its first day. Since the makers screened the film for the press in Chennai two days ahead of the film's release, it gave the film a huge boost. Also, the film received overtly positive reviews from the Singapore screening as well.
The reports suggest that the film maintained steady collections on the second day as well in the overseas regions too. The film is expected to have collected above Rs 42 crore from the first 2 days of run at the worldwide box office, which rightly shows that Nerkonda Paarvai has maintained the excellent momentum that it received on the first day.
