Katrina is Not Starring Opposite Akshay in Sooryavanshi.

Rohit Shetty has become a name to  quantify with in Bollywood, after the filmmaker delivered 8 back-to-back Block buster at the box office. Rohit Shetty, who is basking in the astounding glory of ‘Simmba’ has reportedly denied speculations saying that Pooja Hegde has been signed opposite Akshay Kumar in his next project ‘Sooryavanshi’. Dispelling rumours, Rohit Shetty said that they have not approached any actress as of now as ‘Sooryavanshi’ is still in the scripting stage.

Rohit Shetty even made the announcement of the film on his social media handle, by posting a photo with Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. He captioned the photo 'Singham Simmba Sooryavanshi...Coming...Should I tell you Something that you don’t know???'

Well, while we were excited to watch  Akshay and Rohit’s on-screen collaboration, the speculation of Katrina Kaif starring as the female lead broke the internet. However, if the latest report by Filmfare is to be believed, Rohit Shetty has rubbished the rumours by saying that nothing has been finalised yet. The director was quoted as saying, "It’s not true'. We are still working on the script."

This would break the hearts of the fans who were eagerly waiting for the duo to collaborate after 9 years. Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have been a part of blockbuster films such as Singh is Kinng, Namastey London,  Welcome and others.

In a recent report, Pinkvilla quoted a trade source as saying, “Akshay will be seen in the role of ATS officer Veer Suryavanshi in this comedy-drama film apparently, the actress (Katrina Kaif) who is paired romantically opposite him, will play his girlfriend and wife who is a pillar of support to him in a background full of corruption and intrigue.”

Meanwhile, Akshay will be seen next on the big screen in Anurag Singh's Kesari. Based on the battle of Saragarhi, the historical drama will see the actor playing Havildar Ishwar Singh, who led the Sikh regiment against Afghan tribesmen.
