Rajinikanth Teams Up with Ashwath Marimuthu for Next Film After Jailer 2.

 

Superstar Rajinikanth is currently fully focused on the shooting of Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. As the project progresses, fans have been eagerly waiting to learn which filmmaker the legendary actor will collaborate with next.

Over the past few months, Rajinikanth has reportedly been listening to story narrations from several prominent directors. Earlier speculation suggested that he might team up with Ramkumar, the director of Parking. However, those rumors have now been put to rest, with confirmation that Ashwath Marimuthu—best known for the critically acclaimed film Dragon—will direct Rajinikanth’s next project.

The film will be produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, and an official announcement is expected in the first week of January 2026.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in April 2026. Rajinikanth and Ashwath Marimuthu have reportedly met five times to discuss the story. During their final meeting, the director presented a completed screenplay that deeply impressed Rajinikanth, leading him to immediately give his approval. Following this, pre-production work has begun in full swing.

The announcement of this new collaboration has sparked immense excitement among Rajinikanth’s fans, who are now eagerly awaiting the official confirmation.
