Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited and final film Jana Nayagan is all set to hit theatres as a Pongal special on January 9, 2026. Directed by H. Vinoth, the film has generated massive buzz, with fans eagerly counting down the days for its release.
Amid the growing excitement, reports suggest that Sun TV chose not to participate in the bidding process for the film’s satellite rights. This development has drawn attention, especially in the wake of Vijay launching his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, and openly criticizing the ruling DMK, with which Sun TV is often associated.
Following Sun TV’s reported absence, a stiff competition reportedly emerged between Zee Tamil and Vijay TV to secure the prestigious satellite rights of the film.
The race has now come to an end, with Zee Tamil officially acquiring the satellite rights for Jana Nayagan. According to reports, the channel secured the deal for a massive ₹64 crore, making it one of the most expensive satellite deals for a Tamil film in recent times.
With its theatrical release approaching and major deals falling into place, Jana Nayagan continues to dominate headlines, further amplifying anticipation among Vijay’s fans.
