Karthi is now one of the successful heroes in Kollywood. The actor has tried his hand in romance, entertainer, thriller, action, humour, horror. Now, director Raju Murugan has officially announced that his next film is with Karthi and he also reportedly revealed that the actor will be undergoing an intense training and will be seen in a different look and a new character for the movie.
According to reports, the film is to be titled ‘Japan’. It was also earlier speculated that Vijay Sethupathi was considered to play a parallel lead role but now there is a buzz that Tollywood star Sunil will be playing the role. However, the movie makers are yet to make an official announcement.
The movie is reportedly expected to go on grounds next month. On the work front, Karthi was last seen in the film ‘Viruman’ directed by Muthiah alongside Aditi Shankar. He is now awaiting the release of his film ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ which is set to release on September 30. Directed by Mani Ratnam, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is an historical epic drama about the Chola Dynasty. Karthi also has his upcoming film ‘Sardar’ with Raashi Khanna which is scheduled to release for Diwali 2022.
