Suriya might shoot for his much-anticipated film, Vaadivaasal, from the first week of September. According to reports, the actor will complete director Pandiraj's film in July and start working on his next project after a break. In December 2019, popular producer Kalaipuli S Thanu surprised movie buffs by announcing that Suriya's 40th film will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Maaran and he will be producing the project under his home banner, V Creations.
An official announcement regarding the cast and crew will be made soon.
Surya's ongoing project with director 'Pandiraj' was put on hold due to pandemic. Once the curfew is relaxed Surya is expected to join the team for the next phase of filming. He recently tasted the huge success of 'Soorari Potru' and awaiting the release of 'Navarasa'.
Vetri Maaran, on the other hand, is currently working on 'Viduthalai', a film starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi, and is expected to finish it shortly. Soori and Vijay Sethupathi's first look from the film was published earlier, and both looked quite intense in the frame. Vetri Maaran will also reunite with Dhanush for a film, shooting for which could commence after 'Vaadivaasal.'
Vaadivaasal is said to be inspired from popular Tamil novel Vaadi Vaasal, written by writer CS Chellappa. Back in 2017, Vetri Maaran had secured the rights of the novel as he was impressed with the plot. The film is said to be based on Jallikattu sport, practised in Tamil Nadu. GV Prakash has been roped in to compose music for the project.
