Director Prasanth Varma's 'Awe' made some good sound last year. It was a success. Critics appreciated the film and this year it won two national awards. Prasanth Varma is all set to make its sequel. During an interview with a leading daily, the filmmaker opened about the same and said, “Yes, it is officially in the works. I’m ready with the script. We intend to take the Awe! franchise forward with the sequel,”
Prasanth also revealed about the second part and said, “ Awe 2 is going to be completely different. The screenplay and storyline will be heavy and intriguing. Unlike part one, which had multiple stories running parallelly, this film will have just one story.”
Talking about the lead actors he said that he had approached Kajal Aggarwal who was there in the first film as well. "She’s yet to sign the dotted line so nothing is official yet," he clarified. As for the male lead he said, "We are planning to bring Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi.” Prasanth plans to release the film in multiple languages.
Kajal Aggarwal, meanwhile, has Indian 2, Paris Paris, Suriya 39 with director Siva, a yet-to-be-titled Tamil Hotstar web series directed by Venkat Prabhu, and Call Centre (English-Telugu bilingual), in different stages of production.
Vijay Sethupathi, on the other hand, has Sanga Thamizhan, Maamanidhan, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Uppenna, Ka Pae Ranasingam, and an upcoming Bollywood production with Aamir Khan in the pipeline.
