Akshay Kumar has had a successful track record in every genre he’s taken on. Now, he will be returning to horror comedy with the remake of the Kollywood film 'Kanchana' (aka) Muni. The original was directed by Raghava Lawrence. Akshay Kumar was confirmed for the project a while back.
According to reports, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani will be seen in the Hindi adaptation of Tamil horro-comedy 'Kanchana'. The shooting of the film will reportedly kick-start in April; however, an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited.
Although Kiara and Akshay will share screen space in Good News, Lakshmi will be the first film where they'll be paired together. As per a report from a leading daily, a source close to the development said, “Kiara has almost been confirmed for the role, and now only the final formalities are being worked out. Akshay is currently busy with Good News (starring Kareena Kapoor Khan), post which he will get on this project. The remake has been on Akshay’s mind for a long time now and he’s happy that finally things are falling into place.”
On the work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in the war film, Kesari, opposite Parineeti Chopra. The film received an excellent response from the audience and has already gone past the 100 crore mark.
