Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta has performed well on the second day at the Chennai box office and raked in Rs 2.20 crore.
Superstar Rajinikanth is back with his latest film Petta, an action film with female lead Trisha directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Petta has opened with a good number in the Tamil Nadu box office despite strong competition from Ajith Kumar's mass entertainer Viswasam released simultaneously on 10th January, 2019.
Petta is expected to be the blockbuster and it will surely create another record on the box office collection. One of the major reasons is that this movie has 3 best-known actors that are Rajinikanth, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Sethupathi and Sasikumar. This is the first time that we are seeing these actors together and this has already created hype among the audience. Petta got an impressive non-holiday opening by raking in Rs 18 crore. It turned out to be the ninth biggest opener in Tamil Nadu and fourth biggest opener of Superstar Rajinikanth after Kabali (Rs 21.5 crore), 2.0 (Rs 18.2 crore) and Kaala (Rs 15.4 crore).

Petta Day 2 box office collection saw better growth. It collected around Rs. 14 Crore and took total to Rs.34.90 Crore in Tamil Nadu Box Office despite 90% screen sharing with Viswasam.Petta had a huge opening in the USA.In the capital city of Tamil Nadu alone, the Rajinikanth's movie has earned over Rs 2.20 crore.
Petta is releasing in more than 300 Location in the USA in Tamil and Telugu language. This movie has already started his show in the USA and we have received a positive review for Petta.As per the update, Petta’s premier Show has already crossed $250,000. Now, Petta is the first movie to touch 1 Million among all the South Indian in the USA. This ensures that Petta Box Office Collection will definitely create some new records.
