In a bid to set up the television channel, Rajinikanth-led Rajini Makkal Mandram party's convenor VM Sudhakaran has initiated the process of registering the trademark for the same.
Mr Sudhakaran has requested registering of trademarks in the name of 'Superstar TV', 'Rajini TV' and 'Thalaivar TV', all attributing to Rajinikanth. Mr Sudhakaran had submitted an application for the trademark to the commerce ministry on November 9. Rajni Makkal Mandram’s convenor confirmed that they have just applied for TV channel but added that it is still in very preliminary stages.
The reason for launching own media channel, as per the close aides of Rajni is that, mainstream media has misquoted Rajni’s statements several times in the past. So, before launching the party full-fledged, Rajni is keen on having own channel.Superstar Rajinikanth had announced his entry into politics in December last year.
