Shankar has confirmed that he will begin the shoot of his new film Indian 2 on December 14. The filmmaker has already locked the look test of Kamal Haasan for the film and the full-fledged shoot will begin from the second week of December.
Akshay Kumar has been reportedly come aboard to play an important role in the film as a replacement to Ajay Devgn though an official confirmation is awaited.
Shankar revealed about Indian 2 theme and said, "When Indian was made, I had incorporated situations that I personally faced and the things that I saw around me. Those were the circumstances that helped me write Indian part 1. For Indian 2, I have etched a story keeping in mind about the issues that are bothering me and stories that had disturbed me. These are my driving force to make Indian 2."
Kamal Haasan might play a dual role in ‘Indian 2’,Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the film and Ravi Varman will be cranking the camera. Lyca Productions, who bankrolled 2.0 will back this Shankar project as well.
The shooting for 'Indian 2' is expected to complete by 2019 and the film will tentatively release in the summer of 2020.
