In 2017, Kamal Haasan announced that he will once again team up with director Shankar for Indian 2. Director Shankar is hunting for locations for Indian 2 in Proddatur, Kadappa, Andhra Pradesh. Cameraman Ravi Varman has also accompanied Shankar for the recce.

Reportedly, the Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has been approached to play a pivotal role in the film. On the other hand, actress Nayanthara’s name is doing the rounds for the female lead. A sequel to the blockbuster vigilante thriller of the same name, ‘Indian 2’ will see Kamal Haasan returning as the freedom fighter Senapathy.
