Kasturi, who took a sabbatical from films in 2002, made a striking comeback in 2010 with a special song in Thamizh Padam. For the last eight years, she has been seen in supporting roles and cameo appearances.Kasturi will once again be seen in a special song in the sequel of Thamizh Padam. The trailer of Tamizh Padam 2.0 was released yesterday and opened to an overwhelming response. While a section of fans were excited to see her in the special number, few others trolled her for her choice.

Chiyaan Vikram fans reacted harshly on twitter to Kasthuri and one of them questioned her item dance in 'Tamizh Padam 2' at her age to which the actress once again trolled Vikram saying that "Is romancing a girl younger than one's own daughter acting ? I cannot act like that because I am not born to a ghost or am a devil. Go to hell". Kasthuri has danced to an item song in 'Tamizh Padam' directed by Sashikanth and starring Mirchi Shiva which will be her next release in Tamil.
