A study conducted by a video-on-demand (VOD) streaming platform said that Katrina Kaif has occupied the top spot in a list of popular Bollywood actresses abroad. Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kajol feature subsequently on the list. The findings are a part of consumption trend study done by Spuul, a video-on-demand (VOD) streaming platforms for Bollywood and regional movies, read a statement.
For the study, data has been collected from January 1 to December 31, 2017 from more than 40 million registered Spuul users in India, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the US, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and the UAE.
It has been charted based on the choices made my Indian audiences. The study also said that Diljit Dosanjh is the most popular Punjabi actor outside India. Neeru Bajwa finds the second spot in the list, followed by Jimmy Sheirgill.
Punjabi movies are also popular abroad, and are watched mostly in Australia followed by the US, New Zealand, the UK, Pakistan and Canada.
Katrina Kaif, meanwhile, is the star of films Namastey London, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Ek Tha Tiger, Raajneeti and Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
Last seen in Tiger Zinda Hai, Katrina Kaif is currently busy with her new projects - Thugs Of Hindostan with Aamir Khan and Zero with Shah Rukh Khan.
Thugs Of Hindostan is scheduled to release on Diwali while Zero, directed by Aanand L Rai, will release on Christmas.
