KAMAL HAASAN’S NEW FILM ANNOUNCEMENT TRIGGERS POLITICAL DEBATE!
Actor Kamal Haasan's upcoming film has landed in controversy even before going on floors!
Ahead of his 72nd birthday, Kamal Haasan unveiled the title #Sandiyar for his next film, directed by S. U. Arun Kumar and produced by Raj Kamal Films International (RKFI).
The first-look poster showcases Kamal in a rugged avatar alongside a blood-stained car, carrying the tagline: "Revenge can only be settled in blood!"
However, the title has brought back memories of a major controversy from 2003. Back then, protests over the same title reportedly led Kamal to rename the film #Virumandi, which was released during Pongal 2004.
Now, the issue has resurfaced!
Puthiya Tamizhagam (PT), led by K. Krishnasamy, has reportedly opposed the title once again, expressing concerns that it could glorify caste identities and encourage caste-related violence and the 'Aruval Culture' in southern Tamil Nadu.
At a press conference, the party reportedly issued a strong warning, stating that the film would not be allowed to begin shooting or release in theatres.
THE BIG QUESTION:
Will Kamal Haasan retain the title #Sandiyar, or will the controversy lead to another title change?
