Doomsday is coming.
Marvel Studios has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, confirming the return of a familiar and much-loved face — Chris Evans as Steve Rogers.
The film is directed by longtime Marvel collaborators Anthony and Joe Russo and is set to hit theatres one year from now. Another major surprise comes with the return of Robert Downey Jr., who famously portrayed Tony Stark/Iron Man across 10 Marvel films. This time, however, Downey Jr. takes on a completely new role as the iconic Marvel supervillain Victor von Doom.
The star-studded cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, and Pedro Pascal.
Along with the teaser trailer, Marvel Studios also revealed a first look at the official poster, further building excitement for what is shaping up to be one of the studio’s most ambitious releases yet.
