Release of Vikram and Ranjith’s ‘Thangalaan’ postponed?

Chiyan Vikram - Noted director Pa. Ranjith’s Thangalaan is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films in Tamil cinema’s lineup, and the director is very confident on his product coming up this year. 

Speaking about the film, Pa. Ranjith said “We have shot for more than 105 days on the project, and now close to 10 days of shoot is pending. The film shows us the lives of the people who lived before the formation of KGF, and the problems that they faced.

Chiyaan Vikram’s dedication for this project was huge, he did not hesitate to lose his weight and waited 7 months for the film.Thangalaan was supposed to resume with its shoot in early May, but Chiyaan Vikram’s rib injury has delayed the shoot.

The film's shooting is in its last leg and will get done with its shoot before the end of December. After the wrapping up the shooting, the makers will take a call on the release date for the film. Post production work is already going on at a fast pace. Currently Chiyan Vikram has also started dubbing. 

The latest report suggests that 'Thangalaan' might get postponed until January 26. 'Thangalaan' was initially announced to be released for Pongal 2024, but the makers then changed their minds and opted to release the film for the Republic Day weekend on January 26. However, the latest report turns out to be a hurtful one for fans as 'Thangalaan' is expected to be delayed further. However, an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited.
