Rajinikanth, the legendary superstar of Tamil cinema made a great comeback to the success track after a low phase, with the massive success of his recent outing Jailer. The veteran actor, who is highly active in his film career, is now joining hands with Jai Bhim fame director TJ Gnanavel, for his 170th outing in the film industry. The movie, which has been tentatively titled Thalaivar 170, started rolling in October, this year.

If the latest reports are to be believed, the makers of Thalaivar 170 are now planning to treat the superstar’s fans and cine-goers on the special occasion of his 73rd birthday, with some special updates on the film. According to the grapevine, director TJ Gnanavel and his team have already finalised the official title of the highly anticipated project, and are planning to reveal the same on December 12, 2024, on Rajinikanth’s birthday.
The recent updates suggest that the team might release a high-voltage first-look poster of the film, along with an exciting title reveal teaser, on a special day. However, the makers of Thalaivar 170 have not officially confirmed these reports yet.
According to director TJ Gnanavel, Thalaivar 170 is a complete entertainer that also provides a strong message. Rajinikanth is set to share the screen with legendary Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, after a long gap of over three decades, in the movie. Big B is reportedly making a special appearance in the film.
Malayalam actress Manju Warrier is playing the female lead in Thalaivar 170, which stars Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, Rakshan, GM Sundar, and others in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander composed the songs and original score. SR Kathir is the director of photography. Philomin Raj handles the editing. The untitled project is bankrolled by Subaskaran Allirajah, under the banner Lyca Productions.
