The Bollywood film '12th Fail' has become a sleeper hit and is based on real-life events. The rights to remake the film in Tamil have been bought by Suriya's production house, 2D Entertainment. The lead role in the Tamil version is yet to be announced. Suriya himself is currently busy with other projects, including the film 'Kanguva' and 'SUriya 43', among others. Additionally, 'Soorarai Pottru' is being remade in Hindi, with Suriya appearing in a cameo role.
'12th Fail' based on book written by Anurag Pathak deals with the real-life story of Manoj Kumar Sharma who overcame extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer. The film stars Vikrant Massey in the title role, alongside Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
