Thalapathy Vijay is now awaiting the release of his upcoming flick, Bigil, directed by Atlee. The sports-based commercial flick will hit the theatres on Diwali, which falls on October 27.The yet-to-be-titled project, tentatively referred to as Thalapathy 64, will be directed by Maanagaram-fame Lokesh Kanagaraj.
We hear that Lokesh Kanagaraj has recently conducted an audition, in which YouTube stars from popular channels such as Parithabangal, Black Sheep, Fun Panrom, Nakkalites, Put Chutney, and Erumai Saani, among others, have participated. Many of these actors, who were recently seen in Sivakarthikeyan's home production, Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja, have reportedly been selected to play important roles alongside Vijay in the film.
Meanwhile, rumours are rife that Vijay might be playing a college student once again after Nanban. Interestingly, Lokesh Kanagaraj, in a recent interview to a popular Tamil magazine, had claimed that the audience will get to witness Vijay in a never-seen-before avatar in the film.
Recently, Thalapathy 64 was launched by producer Xavier Britto under his banner XB Film Creators. Names of Kiara Advani, Raashi khanna and Rashmika Mandanna are being considered to play the female lead in the film.
Composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan and editor Philomin Raj are part of the technical crew. The pre-production work is underway and the makers are in the process of finalising the rest of the cast and crew.
