National-award winning Hindi film Andhadhun is set to have its Tamil remake and actor Prashanth has been roped in to play the lead role. The Blockbuster Bollywood film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte and Tabu in the lead roles.

Andhadhun was a dark crime drama which left the audience stunned with its offbeat screenplay. And as always, speculations about its remake in other languages were doing rounds including South film industries.
According to latest reports, the Tamil remake of Andhadhun is on cards and the deal of the remake rights have been sealed. Actor Thiagarajan has bagged the rights of the film and Prashanth might reprise the role played by Ayushmann Khurrana. News has it that the makers of the Tamil remake has begun the pre-production works and are working on the rest of the cast and crew of the film.

Prashanth was last seen in Telugu film Vinaya Vidheya Rama which starred Ram Charan in the lead role. The film was a comeback for Prashanth in Tollywood after almost a decade. In Tamil, Prashanth was last seen in Johnny which was heist thriller and was a remake of Bollywood hit Johnny Gaddar.

Speaking about Andhadhun, Andhadhun won three awards at the recently held National Awards – Best actor for Ayushmann Khurrana, Best Hindi Film, and Best Adapted Screenplay. The film did wonders at the box office as well and it is expected that the story will translate well for the regional audience too. Prashanth has also signed another film with his father, which will be directed by A Venkatesh. The untitled film is set to go on floors soon.
