Thalapathy Vijay is currently shooting for his 63rd film, which is tentatively titled (Veri) Thalapathy 63. Directed by Atlee, the sports-based film will also star Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Yogi Babu, Vivekh, Indhuja Ravichandran and Varsha Bollamma in pivotal roles.The team is expected to wrap up the shooting of the film in the coming weeks.
The latest report surrounding Thalapathy Vijay's 64th project is that the movie will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the young maker who made a promising debut with Maanagaram and has just finished Kaithi with Karthi and waiting for its release. While sources confirm that the director is mostly locked to direct the project, an official announcement is expected on Thalapathy's birthday next month.It has also been revealed that this script narrated by Lokesh Kanagaraj will have Vijay not as a superhero as said by earlier reports but will be seen playing a deadly international don character for the first time and will be a dark thriller. However, an official confirmation regarding the film is yet to be made.
Lokesh Kanagaraj, meanwhile, has wrapped up the shoot for his next project, Kaithi, a prison-break drama with Karthi in the lead. Interestingly, the action thriller, which is said to portray events happening over four hours, does not have a heroine.
