Ajay has locked the dates of his two big films that will hit theatres next year. Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior is one of the most awaited films of the year. And you will have to wait for a few more months to witness the dynamic duo in theatres near you as the film’s release date has been pushed to 2020.
The film which was earlier scheduled for a 2019 release and will now hit the big screens on January 10, 2020. Ajay took to his Twitter handle to announce the new release date of the film.
Ajay and Saif will be reuniting for the upcoming film after a hiatus of almost 12 years. The two were last seen together in the hit film ‘Omkara’. Apart from the two, Kajol will also star in the film.As per various media reports, Kajol has recently shot a song sequence for the film on a lavish set decorated with elegant rangoli and diyas, constructed in Mumbai's Film City.Start the 2020 new year with me, as Tanhaji releases on Jan 10.— Ajay Devgn (@ajaydevgn) March 24, 2019
Meanwhile, Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, shared on the micro-blogging site Twitter that ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’ will hit the silver screens on 14th of August 2020. So Ajay’s film has booked the Independence Day weekend for its release.
Vijay Karnik was the incharge of the Bhuj airport(Gujarat) during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. Karnik, along with 50 Air Force and 60 defence security officers, played an important role in keeping the airbase operational even after facing heavy bombing from Pakistan.
Talking about the film’s subject, producer Bhushan Kumar had told Times of India, “This courageous tale needs to be told because we want the current and the coming generation to know about this brave soldier, Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who played a significant role in India’s victory in the 1971 war. He was heroic enough to take this bold step of involving civilians in a war. Also, who better than Ajay Devgn for the role of Vijay Karnik?”
