Ranganathan Madhavan is all set to turn director with his upcoming movie, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,which is based on the life story of Nambi Narayanan, the space scientist and aerospace engineer.
Nambi was falsely charged with espionage and arrested for the same. Later, the charges against him were dismissed and he was declared not guilty. Maddy is making the film based on his struggles.
Madhavan is directing the film all by himself. Initially, Anant Mahadevan and Madhavan were set to co-direct the film but due to an undisclosed reason, Anant backed out of the project leaving Madhavan to direct the whole film.
As per a report in Behindwoods, there are speculations that R Madhavan had roped in two huge stars to make friendly appearances in the film. The report quotes the sources saying that Suriya Sivakumar will be doing a cameo in Rocketry's Tamil version, while the Hindi version will be having Shah Rukh Khan in the same role! Now that's some casting coup. Let's see if R Madhavan makes an official announcement on this.
We have had occasions in the past where two different actors did the same cameo role in different versions of the same film. Like Ajith Kumar did Amitabh Bachchan's cameo in the Tamil version of the late Sridevi's English Vinglish.
Why, even Ramji Londonwale, the Hindi version of R Madhavan's Nala Damayanthi, had Amitabh Bachchan take on a cameo role that Kamal Haasan did in the Tamil film.Shah Rukh Khan and Maddy have a good rapport and it is highly possible that SRK would have given his nod for the cameo. Same can be said about Suriya, who has earlier played cameos in his friends' films.Sam CS is composing the music for the upcoming biographical film.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will be released in Tamil, English and Hindi later this year. The makers have roped in Simran to play Madhavan's pair in the film.
