Veteran Telugu director Kodi Ramakrishna passed away today at a private hospital in Hyderabad. The filmmaker had been undergoing treatment at the hospital after being admitted three days ago. Since being admitted, Ramakrishna’s condition was said to be a critical due to the prolonged illness. The director breathed his last today morning.
Sources reveal that experienced doctors from Chennai were brought in to monitor him. However, he succumbed to the infection. Earlier, he had suffered a heart attack and paralytic attack as well.
Kodi Ramakrishna was born on July 23 in Pakakollu in West Godavari district. He made his directorial debut in Tollywood in 1982 with Intlo Ramayya Veedhilo Krishnayya. In his career spanning 30 years, the director has over 100 films to his credit.
Apart from being a director, Ramakrishna was also a successful screenwriter and an actor. He was conferred with Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for his contribution in Telugu films in 2012.
His notable works include Managamma Gari Manavadu, Arundhati, Puttintiki Ra Chelli, Allari Pilla, Bharat Bandh, Muddula Mavayya and many more.
