After the Block Buster of Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, STR is back in the limelight because of his latest release of Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven. The film is a Sundar C directorial and it features STR in a massy & stylish avatar.
Megha Akash plays the love interest of Simbu in Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, which has Ramya Krishnan in the prominent role. Catherine Tresa, Mahat Raghavendra, Prabhu, Nassar, Suman, Yogi Babu, Rajendran and others are in the cast. Hiphop Tamizh has scored the music, Gopi Amarnath has handled the cinematography and NB Srikanth has edited the flick.
Review:
Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven is a remake of the Telugu hit Attarintiki Daredi. In it, STR will be seen essaying the role played by Pawan Kalyan in the Telugu version.The movie tells the story of a multi-millionaire [Simbu (Aadi)] coming to India to reunite his aunty [Ramya Krishnan (Nandhini)] with his grandfather. The challenge for him is to get into the house with a false identity. When he comes to their house, he falls in love with his aunt's daughter (Megha Akash).Despite knowing that he has the responsibility of uniting his family, he gets into solve an issue concerning her family. How the young man convinces his aunt to forgive her father and reunite with her family forms the plot.
We get two heroines – one traditional Catherine Tresa, who gets to shake a leg with STR in a song, but is actually the third wheel, another modern Megha Akash, whose performance is as minimal as her costumes), comic sidekicks Yogi Babu, Robo Shankar and VTV Ganesh who constantly break the fourth wall by referring to the hero’s past glories, a plethora of supporting characters, all of whom are rather inconsequential, action blocks that exist only for the hero to show off his ‘mass’, innumerable songs, the music is by Hip Hop Tamizha.
The interval sequence and climax episodes are really nice. Sundar C has succeeded in maintaining good tempo throughout the film. He has also presented Simbu in a way that fans will love.
Cinematography is a big asset for the film. Editing is good. Hip Hop Tamizha’s music and background score are big assets for the film.
Sundar C needs to be applauded for handling Simbu’s stardom in the right manner. He has penned some really nice dialogues and his direction is also good.
Verdict:
‘Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven’ is a clean and hilarious family entertainer. You will see a new and energetic Silambarasan in the movie. Megha’s glamour, Sundar C ’s humour and Hip hop Tamizha ’s music are all bonus points. Go watch the film this weekend with your family. It is worth it.
