Rajinikanth has had a busy 2019 so far with the release of his film Petta and his second daughter Soundarya's wedding with Vishagan. Now, it is said that the actor is prepping for his upcoming flick, which will be helmed by AR Murugadoss.
Now, we hear from trusted sources that Nayanthara, who has last seen in Viswasam, is in talks to play the female lead opposite Rajinikanth in the film. It is also rumored that Anirudh Ravichander, who worked with the Superstar in Karthik Subbaraj's Petta, might return as the music director of Thalaivar 166 also. Official confirmation regarding these two developments is awaited.
Rumours are rife that this yet-untitled film with Rajinikanth will be a political venture. However, Murugadoss has rubbished them as rumours. In an interview to a movie portal, the Sarkar director said, "My next film with Rajini sir will not be a political film. But, it will be a mass entertainer which will satisfy all types of audience. I have been his fan for a very long time and it will be my dream project."Earlier, Nayanthara has danced in special numbers in Rajinikanth's films, Sivaji and Kuselan. It will be refreshing to see two talented actors sharing screen space yet again.
Earlier, it was speculated that Keerthy Suresh has been roped in to play the female lead in this film, which is bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
