Actress Katrina Kaif was also given a certificate of appreciation as a style icon.The artistes were in the United States of America for a press conference ahead of the Da-Bangg Reloaded tour along with Sonakshi Sinha, Prabhudeva, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah and Guru Randhawa. Khan is known for his philanthropic activities in India. He runs the Being Human Fundation, a charitable trust eastablished in 2007, that works for education and healthcare of the underprivileged.

Interestingly, the honour comes only a couple of months after the actor-producer was sentenced for 5 years in prison in the 1998 black buck poaching case by the Jodhpur court. He is currently out on bail.
In 2002, Khan was also accused in a hit and run case. His car had allegedly run over some people sleeping on the pavement in Bandra, Mumbai, killing one of them. The case went through a lot of twists in court, including a point when Khan’s driver took the blame on himself. The actor was acquitted of all charges in the case in 2015 as there were not enough evidence to convict him.
On the work front, Khan's latest film, Race 3, released on 15 June. The film fared well in its first weekend, earning Rs100.94 crore, but the collections slumped due to the negative word-of-mouth and reviews.
Khan will next be seen in director Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat, which is scheduled to be released next year.
