When Dhanush and Balaji Mohan teamed up for the gangster-comedy ‘Maari’ in 2015, the expectations it had among fans was huge.
However, the film opened to Good reviews from critics and massive opening in the box-office as well. Despite reviews, ‘Maari’ has achieved a strong fan following over the years. On its third anniversary on Tuesday, fans took to Twitter to celebrate it with the hashtag ‘3 Years of Maari’ .
Taking to Twitter, Dhanush has now thanked his fans for the unconditional love and support.
Sharing a picture of ‘Maari’, Dhanush said, “Thank you for all the love #3yearsofmaari #tharalocal #senjuruven.”
On the other hand, Dhanush and Balaji Mohan are once again working together for the sequel to ‘Maari 2’. Produced by Wunderbar Films, ‘Maari 2’ has Sai Pallavi playing the leading lady. Reports say that she plays an auto driver in the film. Mollywood actor Tovino Thomas has been roped in to play the prime antagonist, while Varalaxmi Sarathkumar plays a pivotal role.
The film also stars Vidya Pradeep, Rob Shankar and Kalloori Vinoth in supporting roles. If reports are to go by, the makers are planning to release ‘Maari 2’ by this year-end.
