Superstar Rajinikanth wrapped up the shoot of 2.0 long ago but the film has been delayed several times.The movie carried huge buzz but with a series of delays, the audience lost interest on the movie. Shankar directed 2.0 which has a huge dose of VFX work and the film has been planned to be released in 3D in several Indian languages. Though the budget has been decent during the pre-production, it got heaped up later and the stupendous success of Baahubali too was a reason.
Shankar shot the film with expensive cameras and most of the crew members are not aware of the technology. Right when the makers are in crisis for funds, the VFX work was allotted to an American VFX Company which ended up bankrupt. The film has been sold for massive prices and buyers paid advance amounts. Now with huge delay, they are mounting pressure on the producers to return their advance amounts.Shankar is yet to get clarity on the release date and the huge delay costed a bomb for the makers. They are said to have been paying huge interests which would make them lose a huge marginal amount. The makers even expected a huge price for Hindi rights but they could not strike a great deal.
On the whole, the makers of 2.0 are facing tough times with several problems surrounded. Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar are the lead actors in 2.0 which is produced by Lyca Productions. As per the update, the movie may hit the screens during the Republic Day weekend.
