Iconic Actor Rajinikanth’s new movie Kaala that released Yesterday.The much-awaited movie in which Rajinikanth teams up with his Kabali director Pa Ranjith released across 2,000 theatres in the country and 650 screens in Tamil Nadu.
First Day Report:
Kaala has set a new opening day record, in terms of box office collection.The film has collected a whopping Rs 1.76 crore in Chennai beating Vijay's Mersal's earlier record of Rs 1.52 crore. Kaala now stands at the top of the box office collection figures in Chennai. It might take another Superstar film to beat this remarkable feat.
Before Mersal, Ajith's Vivegam had registered a record box office collection on its opening day by garnering Rs 1.21 crore.Trade analyst Girish Johar, speaking to Financial Express revealed that the first-day box office collection of Kaala will be close to Rs 25-30 crore.
On the first day, the collection of Kaala has raked in Rs 15.4 crore. It is far lesser than Rajinikanth's previous movie Kabali, which minted Rs 21.5 crore on the first day. Interestingly, the film is set to do good business on its second day.
