World Iconic Actor Rajinikanth will team up with director Karthik Subbaraj in his next film, the film's production house, Sun Pictures, announced the news on Friday on Twitter. The film has not been titled yet.
While two movies ‘Kaala’ and ‘2.0’ are being awaited with eager anticipation by audiences, fans now seem to have more reason to rejoice! Yes, Superstar Rajinikanth fans are in for a wild excitement and celebration as the Superstar’s next movie has been announced. One of the highlights of the announcement is that the project will be directed by famed director Karthik Subbaraj who has thoroughly entertained us with his previous movies such as ‘Pizza’ and ‘Jigarthanda’. And this project too is touted to have a gigantic production as the project will be bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures.

Rajinikanth already has two films in his kitty. Director Pa. Ranjith's Kaala is scheduled for release on April 27, while the release of his highly anticipated 2.0 with director Shankar has been postponed.
2.0 is being delayed because of the complicated nature of visual effects, according to an earlier report by The Hindu. The report added that the film would take a few more months to be completed.
Currently, the veteran actor also has his hands full with the expected launch of his political party. Rajinikanth has already launched the Rajini Makkal Mandram as a precursor to his party, according to an earlier report. Raju Mahalingam, former creative head of Lyca Productions - the production house that is also financing 2.0 - has been appointed as the forum's secretary.
