The 39-year-old star remained adamant about the flirty messages she received from Love Island hunk Chris despite his continuous denials. Now, following their split, Olivia has come clean and revealed the truth
The 39-year-old reality star stirred controversy last year by revealing that the Love Island hunk had been sending her flirty messages while still dating Olivia.However, despite Katie offering proof to The Sun's reporters, Olivia stood by Chris who adamantly denied that he had ever responded to her messages, which he had posted online.
But speaking to OK! magazine, Olivia revealed that the messages were real.
Speaking to The Mirror, the star's rep said: "She is delighted the truth is out. As Katie always says, 'The truth always comes out in the end - she doesn't lie."
Asked by OK! magazine about whether she felt betrayed by Chris' message incident with Katie, Olivia said: "Yeah. I do feel like I stood by him through a lot of things which weren't great and that I probably shouldn't have let slide, but I did."To have him post on Instagram straight away: 'Everybody lets you down'. I was like, are you having a laugh? Have you been here for the past six months?"
After Katie revealed to The Sun the screenshots of her messages to Chris over Snapchat, Olivia initially refused to believe it.
In an interview at the time, she insisted: "Katie was a bit delusional to think Chris would fancy her or cheat on me."
She added: "Chris is the first guy I’ve ever dated who I have no reason to be insecure with.
But asked about the messages post split, Olivia admitted: "I chose to stand by him at that time. I had known him for two months, how am I to know what he was doing?"
She added: "All I know is that whether he did or didn't, he didn't sleep with her. It was just a couple of messages."
Just hours after we revealed the content of Chris' messages back in October, he lashed out and started a furious war of words with Katie.
In a rant which he posted on Twitter, he told his followers: “I couldn’t give a s**t who I offend anymore. I stand on my own and always will. I don’t need to people to get me. Katie Price you’re a piece of rotten s**t.
“I couldn’t give a f**k about you. Be a mother, be something respectful for everyone’s sake.
“I showed your true colours, you couldn’t live with it. You have 52 screenshots on Snapchat since I humiliated you? Comical.
“I’ve got my whole account history from Snapchat and media lawyer will f**k you up. No one deserves your s**t, and I ain’t one to take it. You f**k lives. You have MY number, you can see I haven’t sent you s**t. You’re washed up and you stink.”
