Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor opposite Ishaan Khatter in Dhadak, the 20-year-old newcomer is already busy piling up her calendar with films. After ousting fellow debutante Sara Ali Khan from Rohit Shetty-Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Simmba, Janhvi is in no mood of slowing down.
On Tuesday, the young diva was spotted doing the rounds of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office in Juhu, Mumbai. Dressed in a ripped denim jacket and grey shorts, Janhvi steered clear of shutterbugs as she spoke into her phone and drove away.Given Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s recent success streak with Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat — and also considering his soft spot for newcomers — we can’t help but wonder what’s brewing between the ace director and the upcoming actress.
After all, who wouldn’t like to see Janhvi in a lavish Bhansali film anytime soon?
Starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, Dhadak is a remake of Nagraj Manjule’s hit Marathi film Sairat.
The film is being produced by Karan Johar and directed by Shashank Khaintan.
Besides featuring a recreation of the hit song Zhingat from Sairat, Dhadak will also feature a solo dance number starring Janhvi.
“The song which focuses only on Janhvi does not have a name yet nor has it been recorded. We worked with the scratch, the singer will be finalised shortly. Since it’s a new addition, I had no reference point from the original. Fortunately, Janhvi’s an extremely confident girl and didn’t say “no” to any of the difficult steps,” Choreographer Tushar Kalia had earlier told Mumbai Mirror.
