Esha Gupta is the latest addition to Paltan.

Esha Gupta will be leaving tomorrow to join the team of JP Dutta’s Paltan. The unit is currently now in Chandigarh. Paltan is based on the Indo-China war and focuses on the interpersonal relationships between soldiers. The film is a tribute to the Indian Army. It is a period film and fans will know that Esha has fared excellently in period flicks. Whether it was the role of the socialite in Akshay Kumar’s Rustom or the hippie babe in Milan Luthria’s Baadshaho, which was set during the Emergency Period of the ’80s, Esha has the classy vintage vibe about her.

In a statement, the actress said, “People do see me in the ’60s era. JP Sir’s love for the country, and his passion for cinema shows in his films. I feel honoured to be a part of his film. I did Chakravyuh with Arjun, we had a great rapport. And now I’m playing the role of Arjun’s wife in Paltan. I’m looking forward to joining the team soon.” The film is a multi-starrer with Arjun Rampal, Luv Sinha, Harshvardhan Rane, Siddhant Kapoor and Gurmeet Chaudhary in main roles. It is being backed by Zee Studios.

Talking about Paltan, JP Dutta told a paper, “The emotions we are dealing with here are more complex and varied. It’s about the relationship the soldiers leave behind and how it affects the families. Border dealt with the soldiers’ love interests, but Paltan will also showcase their siblings and parents. It will also display the soldiers’ brotherhood, as they save each other when at war.” He is known for his films like Refugee and Border.
