It’s almost confirmed that Rajinikanth’s 2.0 is releasing on April 27. The makers are now planning a big event in Hyderabad in the third week of February for the launch of the Telugu teaser.
Apart from Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, the makers are also planning to rope in many Hindi and Malayalam stars for the event. “They are planning to invite Chiranjeevi from Telugu, Mohanlal and Mamootty from Malayalam and also the bigwigs of the Hindi film industry,” says a source.
Meanwhile, there are several reports that the film may not release on April 27 as post-production work is still on. But the source adds, “The entire post-production is almost complete and the makers are organising this big event in Hyderabad to announce that the film will hit the screens on April 27.”
Akshay Kumar plays the role of an antagonist in the film. Directed by S Shankar the film made on a budget of Rs.450 crore, is touted to be the costliest film made in the history of Indian cinema. Amy Jackson is the female lead in the movie. The film's music is by AR Rahman.
