Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much talked about film, Padmaavat finally hit screens on January 25. The film starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh has been doing really well at the ticket windows. The film has indeed began 2018 with a bang as it has entered the Rs 200 crore club in just 11 days. The film has added another Rs 7 crore to its collection, taking the total collection to Rs 219 crore. With this, the film has also become Ms Padukone’s highest grosser so far. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter a while ago to update us with the latest box office figures of Padmaavat. He wrote, “#Padmaavat is ROCK-STEADY… [Week 2] Fri 10 cr, Sat 16 cr, Sun 20 cr, Mon 7 cr. Total: ₹ 219.50 cr. India biz. SUPER-HIT” The film is doing well not just in India, but in the international markets as well as it has collected Rs 138 crore overseas. Apart from these achievements, Padmaavat has also become the Number 1 Hindi film in Austraila. Wondering how? Well, the film just beat box office records made by Aamir Khan’s Dangal, PK and Prabhas’ Baahubali 2 in Australia. Padmaavat has beaten Dangal as it earned A$ 2,672,879 after the second weekend while the Aamir starrer had earned A$ 2,623,780 during its run at the box office.
